Microsoft Windows - Disabling Power Save Mode:
Windows (by default) turns on the Power Save (or Sleep)
feature. If you leave your machine idle for a while the monitor will shut down and then
later on the hard drive will wind down. When you touch the keyboard or mouse the system
turns back on again. The problem is that some programs (and maybe some USB devices) have
trouble coming back from this Power Save mode. If your machine is locking up when you
return from power save, or if you cannot get out of power save at all, try disabling this
feature:
Goto Start Menu/Settings/Control Panel
If you have Windows ME, you may have to click on Show
all Icons.
Double-click on Power Management
Make sure that "System Standby", "Turn
off Monitor" and "Turn off Hard Drive" are all set to Never.
Click OK
