Microsoft Windows - Keeping Windows from filling up your hard drive:
Windows (especially Windows 95) tends to leave old,
unneeded files on the hard drive. Eventually they can fill up the drive and cause
problems. Here are two easy things you can do to help out:
Delete your temporary files once in a while:
Re-boot your machine so none of the temporary files
are in use
Clean out the C:\Windows\Temp folder once in a while:
Double-click on the My Computer Icon
Double-click on the C (hard drive) Icon
Double-click on the Windows Folder
Double-click on the Temp Folder
Goto Edit Menu/Select all
Goto File Menu/Delete (it will ask you if
you're sure)
Set Internet Explorer to automatically delete
Temporary Internet Files:
Goto Start Menu/Settings/Control Panel
Double-click on Internet Settings
Click on the Advanced Tab
Towards the bottom of the list turn on Empty
Temporary Internet Files folder when browser is closed"
Click OK to accept the change.
