CD-RW Instructions:
Here are instructions for using a CD-RW drive (a CD
Burner). These notes were written for a computer with the following software: Adaptec
EZ-CD Creator, EZ-CD DA Extractor (a free download), and Napster.
Before you Begin: Always turn off the
Anti-virus software when you are going to burn a CD.
To Copy a CD:
Dbl-Click on Create CD
Click on CD Copier
Put the original CD in the top drive
Put a blank CD-R in the bottom drive
Click Copy to begin
To get a song with Napster:
Dbl-Click on Napster
Connect to the internet when it asks you to
Click on Search
Enter the artist name and title
Click Find It!
After a minute or two, it will return a list of songs
Dbl-Click on a song to begin downloading it
Goto the Transfer page to see the download progress
Extracting Songs from Audio CD's to MP3 Files:
Run Easy CD-DA Extractor program
Insert the CD in the top drive (after a minute it the
tracks will appear)
If the CD begins playing, stop it.
Click the button that looks like a globe to get the
song names from the internet
Check the songs you want to extract (or don't check
any and it will extract all of them)
Click the extract button (looks like a CD with an
arrow)
A new screen will appear
Click the Extract button to save the songs to the
Napster Music folder on your desktop
Creating a Compilation CD:
Extract or Napster any songs you will want (see
above)
Put a CD-R in the bottom drive
Dbl-Click on the Create CD Icon on the desktop
Click on Audio
Click on Audio CD
In the top left corner, go to C:/Program
Files/Napster/My Files
You should see your songs in the upper right part of
the screen now
Drag the songs you want down to the bottom of the
screen. Watch the bar across the bottom of the screen to see when you are running out of
time.
Click the Create CD button
